Can we post a cop at every school across the nation?

Do we have enough cops in the country to do that? Instead of sending another $40B to Ukraine, maybe we should take some of that and invest it in posting armed guards at every school and beef up ingress/egress security measures and systems at every school.

I did the math at $70k per year salary, it would cost around $18 billion to have two people at every school in the country.

i think we can find a better use of resources than shaking kids down for a little bit of weed

There was a cop in the school for the parkland shooting in Florida but all he did was hide like a bitch when it was going down

There is no question that the funding is there to have private security at every elementary, middle and junior high and high school in this country.

As far back as the 90's there was a "school resource officer" with a gun at every school, even in my relatively affluent area. Is that not the case anymore?

Which is exactly what they would be doing.
Cops patrolling the halls does not promote learning.

School in Florida had a useless security guard

Just be another body added to the death total.

I'd say do it. It should be a no-brainer. God knows we waste more money on other useless things without thinking twice about it.

Haven't there been other instances where a cop or security guard took the shooter down though?

do we not already do this?
we had a big, fat cop always roaming our halls back in the 90s/2000s in rural LA

Having a cop present is not going to stop a person who is intent on shooting up a campus. The element of surprise is what the problem is. There has to be a way to prevent outsiders from coming in; then again, a sniper could still cause damage from a distance.

Then hire private security instead

We need cops at every elementary school now? What are we a 3rd world country?
Posted on 5/25/22 at 11:43 am to rickgrimes
The key is, it can't be cops. They can't even due their regular job well most of the time and we shouldn't take away from the shortages already had across the country.
This needs to be in addition to police, not a use of.

In many ways, we are behind third world countries.

Yes. Police state is the answer. Why don't we just turn them over to the government for three squares and a cot? We could let the government hold them, teach them, and keep them safe.

But we can throw $40+++ BILLION at Ukraine, and tens of Billion at other nations.
If we gonna spend money that we don’t have in the first place, we ought to spend it on our own citizens instead.
