In Alabama they cost exactly the same, not cheaper. It's just that if you're going to get a "commemorative" tag supporting your favorite cause you might as well get the letters custom too because you're still only paying the same 50 bucks.

Correct. But I think the helping schools tag is cheaper than say the wildlife or university tags.
