You know how you can read something, but it's not out loud when you read it? Same thing.

Its said in the prayers mind only. Not spoken aloud to the Lord.

people ask for these unspoken prayers all the time. how in the hell do they know if you're speaking out loud or praying to yourself. and......why would they care which method you chose if they aren't around to witness it?

yes...i'm referring to all of those fb posts that ask for these all the time.

It means the person wants to attention-whore the fact that there’s something going on in their life and request prayers, but they don’t want to admit to what they’ve done publicly. “I can’t give details, but please pray for me.”

Facebook kinda shite.

It means that the person requesting unspoken prayers just did the wild thing outside of marriage and needs forgiveness. It's the Protestant version of saying ten hail Marys.

If someone spoke about it then it wouldn't be unspoken.

This is the definitive answer to the question posed by the OP.

Well I don't know what an unspoken prayer...

but sometimes i thank god for unanswered prayers.
remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs.
that just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care.
some of god's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers

Yes, they are asking for prayers without details.

Orrrrr, it could mean that there is something critical going on in that person's life, but they are not able/willing to talk about it.

For example: If/when you find out someone close to you has a serious illness, but it's not your place to divulge that kind of information. For those who believe in the validity of prayer, you still want to garner support for your friend as they deal with the situation.

quote:

Matthew 18:20: "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."

But no, you're probably right. It's all about attention.

It's bait for attention...

like

" Ughhhh I had the worst day ever......"

and then

" Urgent unspoken prayers needed"

all about the comments and attention.

This is what an unspoken request is.

Perhaps it’s concern about somebody or something else in their life a person rather not share the details with?

Oh the horror

ok.........why would they give a frick if you speak it or not when they're asking you to do it on social media? they're not with you when you pray so why in the hell would they give a frick if you speak or not while saying your prayer?

i mean......they'll never know anyway. right?

It’s usually in context to an unspoken prayer request, something someone doesn’t want everyone to know but is asking for your prayers for a specific thing or situation.
