They should just give out MRE's instead.
That would save the recipients a lot of money in toilet paper due to never shitting

Have you seen the PoliBoard? I'll get a few decent replies over here.
I'll just be told that its a CLinton conspiracy over there.

It just seems so logical, considering our national debt and obesity epidemic, that we would limit the options to fruit, vegetables, pasta, rice, milk, water, meat, eggs, diapers, formula, etc.

Not gonna be getting those votes anyway. Doesn't really matter.

If this is your platform, you've already lost at life.
What are you cooking for dinner? I'm coming over and you'll have to do this dishes.

Why can they be used for prawns, steaks, crab legs, etc, but not for hot foods???

Is this because poors on both sides of the political spectrum rely so much on this?

Where do you draw the line?
Can they buy diet soda? What about club soda? Cereal? Granola bars?

I won't get unbiased answers over there and this question deals with more than just politics. Its a societal issue.
The answers you would get there on this particular topic are going to be pretty spot-on.
Attempting to make any sort of limitations to what food stamps can be used for would be met with an avalanche of "racism" claims and politicians would be lining up to earn votes for their next election by "fighting this blatant racism".
Just bring up what Maine has done in regards to requirements for ABAWDs to receive food stamps and you'll see certain political groups lose their shite, regardless of how low the requirements are nor the impact they have had (and what that really means).

I don't know the answer to this and haven't thought about it, but the word "prawns" is so weird.
But maybe because "hot food" means fried crap half the time.

This is a good point and I thought about it.
It would not be that hard, I don't think. Have a grams of added sugar per serving limit or something like that.

At a convenience store I frequent, they sell pizza. If you use EBT, you pay for the pizza raw in advance, then they cook it for you “for free”
Always a work around.
They always have plenty of cash for swisher sweets and beer.

I guess, I really don't know. Maybe say no non-essentials at all. Club soda and diet soda are clearly not essentials.
There could be ~100 things that a medical board deems an "essential" and those products are always kept on the same aisle together or something like that.

There needs to be a stigma w/ receiving public assistance. It's a safety net, not a lifestyle.
People whip out La Purchase cards like it's not a big deal. Make them stand in line for essentials.

I don't know if it is still like this but used to be there were multiple accounts accessed on a single card. Some people had food stamp accounts and some had accounts that allowed anything to be purchased. Some of the reasons why people had these full access accounts were people that had foster children.
