I hear this a lot but we never talk about the reverse situation for some reason.

This is such a crock of shite. Generational wealth is so rare it is statistically irrelevant in just about any instance, but especially to this topic.

You don't need generational wealth to ski, and having it does not mean you will ski. Do you know the number one reason you will ski? Because you enjoy fricking skiing, and likely live within two hours of a ski lift.

When I lived in Salt Lake, my best friend was black and we went snowboarding regularly during the winter. I don't recall him ever complaining about feeling uncomfortable because of all the white people. Maybe the snowboarding crowd is different than the skiing crowd?

Excluded by default. Skiing costs a lot of money. There is less generational wealth being passed down in the black community. This is not hard to acknowledge for anyone with a smidgen of integrity.

Sure, they can pull themselves out of that by their boot straps, but by then it's too late to become an elite skier. They would have to take their kid. But it's a tough activity to teach your kid if you yourself didn't learn to ski until your mid 30s or early 40s

Imagine thinking so little of a group of people that this is your response to why they don't ski.

I’m in Breckenridge right now. Just took a ski lesson from a black man. Went to dinner and there were a group of black women at the table next to me.

Skiing is predominantly white but no one is stopping minorities from participating.

We really need to stop educating these white bitches and giving them the impression that their opinions and feelings matter.

How many 30 year olds benefit from generational wealth?

Honestly, what is the percentage of 30 year olds living off a trust fund?

Without a trust fund, generational wealth gets pass on when your parents die. How many 30 year olds have received generational wealth when both their parents passed away before the age of 30?

It is funny when people use words that they do not understand. And then act like a pompous arse because their entire stance is a shtick. An act to appear better than others with moral high ground bullshite.

Generational wealth? Lol

My grandfather passed away in 2009 with a $5000 life insurance policy (which may have been a years' wage when he first took it out) and 3 surviving children. That is why I take my children skiing every year.

Depending on what you consider generational wealth, only about 2% of families will pass down over 1 million. This was somewhat recent numbers also.

I don't consider 1 million generational wealth. Maybe you do.

I can concede that $1,000,000 is a shite ton of money. Hell... split it in half (2 kids) and it still is a shite ton of money.
It is especially a lot of money versus someone who received nothing.

But the average life expectancy is 78. The children may be 53? That isn't exactly a leg up in life. It is a leg up heading into retirement, though.

But to use generational wealth as some excuse for societal differences is laughable. An obvious con. A lazy lie.

Maybe black people, for the most part, just don’t enjoy being in cold and snow?

Sometimes the simplest answers are the correct ones.

Skiing is an expensive leisure activity that is also a niche sport where you have to travel the world to compete for comparatively (to other mainstream sports) very low potential to make money in it.

That’s why it isn’t diverse.

If we, as white people say this about being around black people, we’re called racist.
