You should edit the OP with each update along with a new comment. That way there’s an easy list of progression for people to see.

What about all the gas you are spending to drive to estate sales and the value of your time doing your taxes, researching items, monitoring sales, posting auctions, scrounging through people's stuff.

Some of you guys are insufferable. His spare time spent doing what he enjoys doing is the same as going to play a round of golf, or doing some other hobby. Doesn't appear to be a career for him, but more of a challenge or something that keeps his mind exercised.

AT, I'm following. Agree with the previous guy's suggestion about updating the OP so we can find the string of purchases pretty clearly. And maybe add which page the thread is on when you purchase it. It's your thread though, do what you'd like. And I hope you get to Japan for $1.

Maybe show each new purchase and subsequent sale updated on the original post so it will be easy to follow.

Agreed. I think the OPs premise is really cool. Without having their wife's credit card, most of these dweebs would never do anything.

Old metal soapbox derby trophy topper

Let's say you make $20 off of this soapbox Derby trophy. Will your next move be to take that $20 and look for other items of value in garage sales and do the same thing? Or will you mostly stay on eBay looking for items to flip?

Bruh, you're not in Japan yet? Not even up to $10?

The trophy topper wasn’t getting any traction, so I found two items for $1 total

So... you lost right?

You've spent $2 dollars on 4 items, used at least a gallon in gas. And sold nothing, correct?

A family of 4 to Japan for $6,000- $8,000, how? I can’t take my family of 4 to Montana in the summers for that.

I’m talking just flights and hotels. I did a quick scan, flights are about $1500. Decent hotels for 10 days, $2000.

I’m not including food, spending money, ground travel, etc. that’s another $2000+.

It's like a Twitter thread in here. Motherfrickers adding your opinion to what amounts to a person challenge for OP. Shut the frick up, no one cares about what you think his personal challenge should be. Sit back and see what happens. Good grief.

Go on antique. Good luck.

Now if you can find a couple more of those Black Widow bows...

What did you source those for, BTW?

Yeah, I should have just said how long will it take me to turn $1 into $8000, to help pay for a trip to Japan.

I sold it for a friend. It was her father’s, who recently passed away. I didn’t charge her anything. It was only one bow. First auction, the guy didn’t pay.

I predict you are going to be half way there by the end of the summer or a little later. You're gonna get lucky on something and score big.

With my luck if I tried this half my sold would get refund or return demands

I will be on the road Friday and Saturday morning in South Carolina and Georgia. Believe me, I will be hitting every garage sale I come across. I may take some back roads for a little while both mornings.

I did last year, to a very nice resort outside of West Glacier.
