Grew up in BR, and it was decent at one time, but it's too late. Beyond saving at this point.

young professionals
Huge understatement. Cincy’s and one of the country’s most dangerous neighborhoods 15 years ago is now the most expensive per sq. Ft. It took young skinny Jean professionals to suck it up to work close to company HQs here.
The other catalyst was a non-profit bought all the shite properties, renovated all of them with shitloads of tax credits. Bars, restaurants, entertainment followed right behind.

No. The issue is that Louisiana is a crappy place-from the north to the south. People remain there who are stuck there, who are older, or who have connections to older people.
I love the state, but there is no hope for the state. You can’t languish at the bottom of every quality of life metric and think the future is bright. It isn’t.

There is a 0.0% chance anything like this would pass a metro council vote. The demands and stipulations for dumb shite like low income housing would torpedo anything like this right out of the gate.
The only things EBRP has an interest in approving are massive, shitty DSLD disposable neighborhoods that will turn into section 8 shitholes and cause more flooding problems.

We are talking about the Greek system at the University?

The difference between Jackson and BR is the folks with money who control BR politcs are overwhelmingly white and aren't going anywhere. Once they decide it's time for Broome, or Murphy Paul, to go, they're as good as gone.

Some of us are allergic to lead you retarded frick. But, with any luck, you’ll go out and one of these guys will run up on you so we don’t have to read your bullshite anymore.

Can the OT be the OT again?
Clearly the grown men too terrified to go outside need their own board to bounce rumors and wives tales off each other.

The funny part about Jackson is that white people built up an entire city, handed it to black people, and now that we see how they run a city, they blamed white people for giving it to them and leaving.

The biggest problem facing BR is that the Summer of Hope has ended and nobody thought to extend it through autumn.

Baton Rouge is Mogadishu Somalia, they just haven’t shot down the Blackhawk helicopter yet.

fricking stupid take. Most of us who live in the area go out in this shithole every single day. It wasn’t an issue when we could simply avoid north Baton Rouge or Gardere and be fine. When people are having gun battles in front of the mall at 2pm on a weekday, or on an affluent residential street on a Sunday morning, or near a playground at a popular park early evening, or getting ambushed while driving home after being out with friends, the fricking sane response is to be angry.
