Highlander or Grand Highlander.

Having owned a Hyundai/Kia/Genesis product before - I highly recommend the Traverse.

And not just because Hyundai/Kia/Genesis make terrible products and the company refuses to honor their own warranties. It's also because the new Chevrolet Traverse is legitimately good. They use a de-bored out version of the Silverado turbo engine, which is complete overkill for the Traverse. I like overkill under the hood.

I would never buy a car made by Hyundai. And Kia is made by Hyundai.

My parents bought a Hyundai Genesis from the Baton Rouge dealership years ago. It was constantly broken, and the company was very shady about covering warranty repairs for things like broken radiators, ECM failures, ABS control module failures, etc. And at least once the fender wells just fell loose on the highway and got torn off the car by the moving tires.

It wasn't just a comically bad car. The dealerships were sketchy too.

After repairs, the car was frequently returned to them with personal items from employees in the car and with many hundreds of additional miles on the odometer.

Not really a reflection on the car per se but my buddy bought one recently. The features rely almost entirely on this Kia Connect service that you register over the air. It does all kinds of shite. But he couldn't register or create an account at first. Turns out the salesman had registered the vehicle to his personal Kia account before delivering the car. It took days to get him to drop the vehicle from his account so my buddy could get control of the vehicle. Then Kia started telling him his vehicle was a "used car" since he was the second owner and that was going to affect the warranty and other stuff. It was pretty funny and I thought he was going to possibly light the car on fire at one point.

The entire dashboard and everything else is computer controlled. No mechanical gauges at all. It will be interesting to see how that stuff holds up.

Telluride has a far better warranty if you buy new. Car sites like Car and Driver give it a 10/10 often.

This is exactly the type of experience that Kia gives you. I think they sell a lot of cars to people with shitty credit who don't take care of their vehicles.

So they look for every reason to get out of that warranty coverage, even if it means screwing over the type of buyers they should actually want to keep happy.

My wife has a '19 Traverse LT3 with that 3.6 liter V6 that cranks out 310 HP. It's got some get up and go. It also has more inside room than a Tahoe, unfortunately, though it has a nice ride, it's not quite as nice as a Tahoe.

Tellurides are nice, it's only downside is it is underpowered.

I bought a used Kia under the 60,000 mark. So still covered by factory warranty till 60,000. Took almost 8 weeks to get the car back. But complete sunroof and sunroof assembly changed out under warranty. For a transferable warranty to second owner is a plus.
