Weight. Pick one between the 7.5 - 7.7oz range

How big are your hands? Different paddles for hand length

Paddle cores,
Nomex- Carboard like, sought after for power
Polymer-Softest and quietest, highly sought after
Aluminum- Louder but mixture between power and touch

I just changed to Onix Z5.

I like it.

In puts more spin on the ball.

I use an Engage Poach Extreme. Longer and thinner (17”x7”) than the average paddle. Allows for more speed and longer reach.

I have some friends that use the longer, thinner paddles.

The only downside is the sweet spot is smaller.

Those guys are better than me. I actually increase my reach by using forehands with either hand. My backhand is not that good, but switching hands allows me to reach more shots.

It's all about the grip size. Make sure your paddle matches your hand. I've seen your hands, id go with about a 4.5"

I broke my right wrist last March and had to play left-handed for several months. It’s good to be able to switch hands if I need to.

Initially, I thought it was bad form to switch hands, but some high end 5.5 pros do it for certain shots.

I just do it because I’m a step behind. This is mostly when I play singles because there is a lot of court to cover at times.
