This country has been divided for well over 150 and we are all still here grinding forward. If the civil war didn't destroy us a political divide sure as hell won't....

Honestly, the compromise zone in the middle (or the demilitarized zone, if you prefer that metaphor) is responsible for the greatest standard of living the world has ever known.

The truth is always found somewhere not on either end of the rope.

I think the political and even covid related polarization is largely overblown. MOST people don’t really give a frick and I don’t think true hated is actually as prevalent as it might feel on Twitter and television

HOWEVA,

We have a exponentially increasing % of the population that is low iq, fat, poor, lazy, degenerate, and has no intention on ever changing. At this point there’s no fixing this demographic tidal wave... only delaying the inevitable for as long as possible

Hate is over-rated by media and greedy politicians.

Yeah of course. America has survived for a long time with subsets of the population hating other subsets. It only seems unique or noteworthy if you have only cursory knowledge of American history.

Everyone is managing most days.

I just pretty much stick to myself. I don’t like enough people to interact with that many folks to see if they like or dislike me.

Don't watch the news and you won't hate your neighbor.

I hope your cat is right. I'm about 0.426 celebratory nurse TikToks from dusting off my Buscemi list.

One of the most impactful and repeated quotes from the last Dave Chapelle special: "Twitter isn't real!"

You can't ignore it but you can open people's eyes to it and just be aware of how fake it all is.

But that assumes people want to accept and live in reality. Look at social media. People want to indulge in fantasy. People read post fake stuff, write fake stuff, believe in fake stuff because they reject reality. It’s not an accident why people do what they do.

Yep, and one of us wants a divorce, and the other doesn't because they will lose their standard of living by sponging off of us.

So much stuff has happened and been said, there will never be peace in my lifetime. If history repeats we are headed for ethnic cleansing or war.

There is like 10% that hate another 10% and the 80% in the middle just want to live their lives.

Unlikely, but I would venture to say that percentage is not accurate. Half of this country disagrees with the other half, but only 15%-20% of each side hate each other. That leaves at least 60% of us open to civil discourse about our differences...we can work with that if we show the will.
