I’m sorry you’re hostile to scientific curiosity. Your ancestors probably mocked Pasteur.

I think it would work. Also, it's metal so you could probably make a bullet proof vest out of it too. I'd use at least 2 layers for the vest though.

As others have pointed out, aluminum foil will only protect you from radiant heat. For full protection from a fire emergency you will also need an insulation layer as well as air filtration.

So in case of a fire, follow these steps:

1. Put on your ski suit (if you don't have one, you should go buy one in case of a fire emergency)

2. Carefully wrap your ski suit with aluminum foil

3. Find your old covid masks and put on 3-4 of them. 3.50 is the optimal number of mask layers.

4. Calmly exit the building

LeClerc torpedoed your return to the thread. I'm the only Scuderia Ferrari guy in there.

Seems possible. It can probably double as an air fryer.

I thought we had it when Charles was able to pull the DRS gap and thought as long as the pit wall didn't frick up the tire strat we were good after Max boxed. Then it happened. I turned it off and we went to brunch early 'cause I had to start drinking.

I’m not hanging around waiting to get scorched. I’m running through the flames to safety.

You could put on jeans and a rugby shirt to do the same thing. Maybe wrap a wet towel around your head. Probably quicker than making an aluminum foil space suit.

Perhaps the hostility you sense is the "ordinary aluminum foil" idea is akin to "Can rocks float?". His issue is likely based upon common modern experience in every aspect of foil, heat, fire and fashion.

100% of climate scientists would agree this thread is, in fact, a really really dumb thread

OP has apparently never baked or grilled with aluminum foil before.

There are great recipes for both that use tented aluminum foil to make meat fall off the bone. Let that be the answer to your questions.

Wasn't trying to be cool. When you put an aluminum foil covered potato in an oven, is it heat resistant in any way?

Again, I’m not hanging out among the fire. I’m donning my aluminum foil suit and running through the flames.

What’s more fire resistant-Aluminum foil or jeans and a rugby shirt?

Can you cook a potato wrapped in foil in 10 seconds in a conventional oven or on the grill?

You need to explore the difference between radiative and conductive heat transfer.
