That floor was painted back in the early 90's when Mark Carroll and Edwin Reeves were the coaches.
I went there from early 80's to the mid 90's.

That floor was not wood. The whole thing was 12x12 vinyl tiles. Look closely at the red on the sidelines, and you can see the grid.
When they put down that artwork, they put an assload of urethane over it. They wouldn't let anyone in the gym for a month. After that, those two coaches spent hours a day running a floor polisher over it.
