They’re not trained to kill. They’re trained to use the absolute necessary force needed to resolve a situation. Unfortunately, there have been a lot of shootings lately. Officers need better academies. They need better preparation and training to better assess situations.

If the felony is the call, nobody died during that. It would be a tough sell to tie an overly aggressive police officer shooting someone several minutes later. The call didn't force the officer to be trigger happy.

It’s like yelling fire or bomb in a movie theater. The yelling doesn’t actually hurt anyone. But it creates a panicky and dangerous environment that can cause someone to be hurt.

Any of those cases one shot to the leg followed by a brief pause before unloading magazine would have saved lives. So in my opinion they are trained to kill when not needed.

They are not trained to kill. Fact. They are taught to use only necessary force. However, when you think you are in a dangerous situation, all that training either kicks in or goes right out the window. It’s always easy to say that was a bad shooting after the fact. It’s never that easy real time.
