The Huey P Long Bridge in Bridge City got the expansion it so desperately needed in 2013, but several bridges across Louisiana are in dire need of either repair or expansion. More than ten bridges in the state are deemed "unacceptable" by federal regulations.

In your opinion, which bridge in Louisiana needs repair/expansion the most?

what about that article that came out a year or so ago naming it one of the most unsafe bridges in the country?

was that just some political pandering?

That one is fine IMO, just need to expand the roads that lead to and from it to more than 1 lane. Distilling I-10 down to 1 lane after crossing the friggin Mississippi river is asinine.

Any word on future improvements to the Calcasieu Bridge?

I looked at the Wiki page and didn't see anything.

there is one article that always gets reposted

that bridge is scary to drive on and outdated but the state and federal transportation people are always out there testing it

i also think that it's unsafe b/c of the angle of incline/decline and articles come out saying how it's unsafe but don't list why, and then the reader thinks it's about to fall down. then it's shared and after telephone it's felling down TOMORROW

every time I take LA1 to go fish, I get stuck there for 15 minutes at least

other side of the road has a nice overpass that I always seem to never take

It is probably some timber or boxcar bridge you don't even know of. There is one close to here that was ordered to be closed(or immediately repaired) just last week.

The state has decided that infrastructure is not important. We broke now so it'll be quite a while before that bridge is fixed unless the Feds want to pay for it.

Not so much a bridge as much as it is an overpass... That bridge/overpass on 90 in the Franklin/Berwick area.

Good god the left handed engineering involved with that roller coaster of a bridge is crazy.... I'm sure guys around that area have some info on why it's so bumpy/fricked up?

If not that one, the new BR bridge bottle neck at 10/110
