So I needed to crimp some connectors on some 1 guage AWG wire. I didn't see myself ever needing to do this again. I totally bought the 30 dollar crimpers from a big supplier, crimped the 4 connectors I needed to crimp, and am returning them. They weren't in clam shell (box) and I boxed them back up just like new.

I feel no shame.

I enjoy having oddball tools, so I have never experienced this level of trashiness.

I almost never do anything just once.

It's not that I need it so much as I'm a cheap SOB.

My former father-in-law would suggest this which leads me to believe he does it. He's a high functioning alcoholic so yes, trashy.

With most tools I take this approach... but not this one.

Personally, I think it's environmentally friendly...

Reuse, reduce waste, recycle...

I have friends that buy waterproof speakers every year for our river trip and return them after the trip every year.

These two discuss it openly on the group text for this annual trip lmao. Trashy as hell and way too much effort to not have the speaker whenever you want

Well that's just dumb if you plan to reuse every year. Just buy some used jbl charges. They aren't that much.

Bought a specialty tool the other day, opened it and it was broken straight out of the box, but good enough to do the job.

About to return it this weekend.

I’ve only done this once, but the specialty tool was $375, it was a pipe threader.

Yeah, but do you want a dick up your arse? No?

Neither do I.

It’s trashy

But personally wouldn’t feel that bad given the amount of irrational shite I wind up buying from them and ends up lost in my garage

Disgusting behavior. I can think of nothing trashier. Anyone who would consider such behavior is a grade A POS

ETA good lord bro how fricking poor are you that you can’t lose out of $30. Wow this says way more about you than anything else

How little is your time worth to go through the effort of returning something that’s not broken to the store?

Are you retired?
