...Had my local Orielly Auto Parts store offer me a deal like that "use it and bring it back for a return" on a torque wrench.

I bought the torque wrench. Figured it was easier than having to go through that every time I needed one.

How little is your time worth to go through the effort of returning something that’s not broken to the store?

Are you retired?

Well, I don't make 30 dollars in five minutes. Plus my wife is gonna drop it off and she sure doesn't make 30 dollars in 5 minutes.

Well, to be fair to you, there is a very real possibility that if you didn’t bring them back, you would lose them in your Alabama double-wide, and you’d have to buy a new pair the next time you needed to crimp connectors. Or, someone from your trailer park would steal them.

Torque wrenches have there place I'm sure. But I have never needed one. Just don't tighten the shite out of stuff.

Yes, absolutely. Or they will rust up cause I leave them out...the possibilities are endless. I much rather return them to someone thar will take care of them.

It’s like the old (fake)Churchill story: “Madam, would you sleep with me for a million pounds?” The lady stammers: “My goodness, Mr. Churchill. Well, I suppose….”Churchill interrupts: “Would you sleep with me for a fiver?” She responds hotly: “What kind of woman do you think I am?!” Churchill replies: “Madam, we’ve already established that. Now we are haggling about the price.”
If you’re a liar/thief over $30 or c30, it’s just a matter of the price of your conscientiousness.

Why would you not want to have the tools if you have pex plumbing?
