the sweet thing about those EDM SD70ACe motors is you can tilt those seats back in the motor and get all comfy. On the conductors side i can get to where I can still see signals and track flags with the seat maneuvered to where its comfy.

I don’t think many will see a sight like this again. This is about so much...WWII hero, first envoy to China, Director of the CIA, Chairman of a major party, 8 years as a VP, President for 4 years (It would have been 8 if that little big eared freak didn’t grab 16% of the vote), and perhaps most importantly showed former rivals can work together for the good of the country. We’ll never have another President like that again in our or our children’s lives.

They’re showing that being former presidents, they’re almost now above all the bs discourse. And probably have more in common now due to the sheer weight of the presidency on their shoulders. It’s awesome to see it.

I saw Simpson last night. I thought he was terrific.
Watching the train approach and then seeing the casket in the window is pretty damn moving. I can't imagine actually being on site to see it. He's going home to be with Barbara and Robin, even though he's already with them. The symbolic trip to them is stunning.

With the exception of this past President most aren’t bound by party & “swamp” ties. On average there’s only 4-5 ex-Presidents alive and there’s some things that only they can understand. The one that stands out is Clinton using Carter as a special representative in hot spots. 43 & 41 have what was probably the closest since W knew what being the son of a President was and H.W. knew what it was like to be President. The interesting thing will be Obama 10 years from now. He’s breaking a lot of the ex-President norms...which will continue to make him a divisive figure. I hope he settles into that role as time passes.

I’ll go ahead and do a very OT thing to inject a little lightness to the thread. Is it me or are almost all of the female grandkids pretty darn hot (especially Barbara who is a solid 9)?

If I felt like downloading it to imgur and all that business, I would show you a text I sent to someone yesterday..,
I texted "Bro, I think every single one of George HW Bush's granddaughters are hot AF".

This is very very true.

Possibly yes, but the cynic in me shows they can all be friends because they, in their own little way, belong to an exclusive club of people who have completely killed the founding fathers intent for how our country should be governed.

Time for the final goodbye. That body has been all over the place in planes, trains and automobiles. I was thinking about how many times it's been loaded and unloaded, ceremoniously.

That flyover
Is there good video of it? I saw the CNN feed and it was just some idiot cameraman pointing his camera at the sky. All you could see is the cameraman zooming into 4 plane diamond elements flying by, then wildly swinging the camera to the next one. I read they were flying a 21 plane missing man formation, but all they aired was amateur looking video of a series of diamond formations. The savvy amongst you will realize that if the cameraman was only showing 4 plane formations, CNN did not show 21 planes.
It's okay, though. I guess they can practice over the next few days and get it down in time for next week's presidential funeral.

Since the network pool cameras completely fricked it up, here you are.

it was a beautiful ceremony today at St. Martins.
