Just move to Jefferson Parish. Literally every single aspect of life is better here.

Yea but can you sit on your porch eating boudin while a second line goes by your house this afternoon ?
No don’t think so

They should flood it and once the water goes down plant it in corn.

Friend,
It's an old copy of Donne's works printed in the Harvard Classics series. That series is worthy of anyone's library.

I've said this before and I'll say it again.
NOLA is home to the worst public utility in the country (S&WB) and the worst private utility in the country (Entergy).
I'm sure power consumption was off the charts yesterday with people running their a/c non-stop due to record heat. When you have crappy, falling apart systems, it can't meet the demand. Just like the pumps.

A power outage cause it's too hot? That's some 3rd World shite right there. Glad I live in The Woodlands.
Umm, when I lived in Katy, there were several rolling brownouts due to excessive heat. Ercot would shut people's power off for 15 min at a time to prevent a larger crash. All of the record demand for power, are days with intense heat.

All because our corrupt city government insists on being the only city in the nation to separately regulate its utility from the the state.
Muh brake tags
But yes, NOLA getting screwed on rates.

I’ve lived in Katy since 2013 and this has not happened once to me.

I’ve lived in different parts of Houston since 2008. Heights, Midtown, Upper Heights, and Spring....no rolling brown outs, not once.

If you own property you have choices.
Put up with the power outages.
Go to a friends place with power or hotel.
Have a standby generator installed.
If you cannot afford one get a side gig to pay for one for future power outages.
Or
Move to an area that is known to have less power outages if you do not want to experience them.

Another longer term option would be to stop voting Democrat only

I heard a Nola native say that if the US was going to get an enema, the tip would be stuck in Nola, and that was back in the 1970’s.

Also one from May saying that backup resources are depleted and could result in rolling blackouts this summer.
