Prop me up by the jukebox when I die.
Lord I want to go to heaven, but I don’t want to go tonight.

Google search says average traditional funeral and burial is 7-12k
Average funeral with cremation 6-7k
They have billboards here that advertise cremations for $700.

Are there any regulations about where cremated remains can be spread?
I figure what they don't know won't hurt them.

My entire family signed up for donation. Dad was used for 31 different processes like surgical training and fit testing new designs for mechanical implements (like foot and spine braces/inserts) then his cremated remains were sent to us. During the process we received updates and notice of shipment. All free of charge, so the usual vultures had to find other victims to bilk out of thousands of dollars.
All Mom had to do was show the business card to the ER Dr. and everything was handled from there. Much, much, easier than phone calls, visits, shopping, etc..

I want a mausoleum with catacombs and tasks to complete and a troll asking riddles and shite.

Mom was buried. Total funeral and burial cost was around $15k.
Dad was cremated. Total cost of funeral and cremation was around $8k.
The two were 5 years apart, dad's first.
The experience with mom's prompted me to decide to donate my body and skip the whole funeral home experience for my survivors. Sleaziest industry out there that preys on vulnerable people in highly emotional states. "You wouldn't want to put your mother in this cheap casket, how about this one over here that's $30,000?"

This the funeral industry is a racket. The cost of coffins is just insane.
I sometimes think they don't even bury you in the nice coffin. Plus my aunt and uncle died the same week and only had one plot in the wall at lakelawn. So even though they both got coffins they will share one coffin for life. Though they had to put one in a decomposition chamber for a bit first or something like that. All I know is when I die I'm dead I don't care what you do to the body.

I don't know if it's what I want, but I am interested in the burial pods that turn your body into a tree.

Direct cremation. I don’t want to be embalmed. I used to be an embalmer and I want no part of it.

Following a family tradition.
Mom and Dad died at home 35 years apart and the process was the same. Make a phone call, body gone in a couple of hours.

Toasted, covered and smothered.

Mother died a few years ago and father died a few months later. Both cremated and was around 800 each??? Put them together at the veterans cemetery which is free...
My wife and I will be cremated and the kids know where to spread the ashes....
