A $279 backpack to potentially save a kid’s life. It shouldn’t be like this. When I was in school, we had tornado drills. Now they play active shooter drills. I don’t even have words.

I wish I would’ve invented these when I was still in school and also be black

I’d have a booksack empire and they probably would’ve given me a daytime talk show by now

That’s a great idea but teachers have a policy that backpacks stay in cubbies away from students so to get to the backpack would take vital time in a pinch.

You want to be a black inventor of bulletproof backpacks?

We were always told we can be whatever we want.

Teacher training, heavy solid classroom doors, and door locks are probably much more effective.

The money we’ve sent to Ukraine would’ve paid for every single school in America to be equipped with bulletproof doors as well as bulletproof bookcases that slide to and lock across every classroom door easily.

But Ukraine!

Congress loves to scream “do something” when this happens but they can absolutely do something. They chose to do something else.

don’t know if y’all have guns in your house, but your kid is far more likely to die from a gun in your house than at school.

Also more likely to die in a car wreck.

Hell in some of the rough areas the kids were being gun downed in their cars leaving school.

Can’t say that I’ve ever considered a bulletproof backpack for my kids.

The locked doors slow down the cops from getting to the shooter FYI.

That is exactly what happened last week with the Nashville shooting.

Most people aren't bashing you, just pointing out that a bulletproof backpack a younger child can wear is extremely limited in protection and application.

Not only that but every backpack is “bulletproof” once it has a few books in it.

More children died from covid than school shootings. If you are really buying your child a bullet proof backpack im sure your child was double masked and wearin a face shield as well.

Id hate that extra weight to carry around as a kid. Books were heavy enough

So I did all this research several years ago for my son. Since they aren’t allowed to carry their backpacks around school, I decided to go with the bulletproof binder inserts instead. I bought 2 for each binder so when opened up it covers his entire upper body. Could also be removed from binder and inserted under shirt. Just felt that was a more flexible option.

I hate that I felt the need to research and make those purchases.

Some of you gals need to turn off the tv. School shootings are the new stranger danger. And a bulletproof binder has never saved a life.

Yep. Media fear mongering is way too effective. Are we also not gonna let kids play football, ride dirtbikes, or jump on trampolines anymore? All our much bigger risks than being shot at school.
