I’ve had 4. Best dogs I ever had.

They look like large slugs and seem to be suffering just to breath and stay alive.
Some of their breathing is hard to hear. shite is unfair for them.
They sound like a 300 pound dude who smoked 2 packs of marlboros a day.

If we allowed nature to take its course these animals would’ve died out a long time ago.
You should go on Naked & Afraid and show everyone what a badass you are.

I’d have a better chance than those worthless animals. That’s how unhealthy they are.

As I was typing my response I was thinking of all the possible replies I would get. Maybe I should just start posting the obvious replies to my post to save everyone the time and trouble.

My frenchie doesn’t have allergies or breathing issues. She loves the dog park and can run with the big dogs. She is hilarious. Watches tv and loves to be in a lap most of the time. They are great companions.
I never liked these dogs but there are a lot out there in need of adoption. They have been way overbred.
I ended up adopting two frenchies and they are fricking amazing. I love these dogs. I will continue adopting them in the future.
My niece loved mine so much my brother ended up getting one for their family.

Thing about it is, you’re universally disliked here. Do everyone else a favor and stop with your idiotic musings.

Thing about it is, you seem to assume I give a frick. This is a message board and I post what I think.. Sometimes I say things tongue and cheek, I can see how not hearing my tone makes a difference when reading my post, but I am really not here for a popularity contest.
Anymore advice to offer?

My Mother operated a dog rescue and she always had a lot of dogs at home awaiting adoption. So, I was always around a lot of different breeds.
I agree about bulldogs. Their unique personalities really grow on you.
But yeah, like so many dogs, they're severely overbred for certain marketable traits that are extremely unhealthy for them. Like Chihauhuas bred for small heads with that specific shape that squeezes their brains and causes most to die of seizures.

Many modern dog breeds are disfigured versions of their past, healthier self.
Bulldogs unfortunately are one of the prime examples.
They actually looked healthy and normal 100+ years ago.

Not exactly refuting the genetic issues thing here.
Not trying to. But two of those things were not something that is more common in bulldogs than other breeds. Cancer and brain tumor were just bad luck. Dogs that most people don't have a problem with like Golden Retrievers, Boxers, and German Shepherds are more likely to have cancer than an English Bulldog.
You can end up getting a bulldog that has one health problem after another, and one that has virtually none. We've had both. The problem is that people get them and aren't ready to take care of them like they need to be.

Take him to the kennel, sick the dogs on him, see what he knows.

We've got an English who is 12 and a Frenchie who is 13. The English is kind of slow but sweet and obedient as hell. The Frenchie is a total diva but really fun.
We were thinking about getting another dog once, a lab mix, and were introducing ours to it to see how they would do. The lab mix got really excited and ran up on our Frenchie. Our English moved faster than I could have ever imagined, reared up, and barreled over the lab, body checking and pinning it to the ground. He didn't try to hurt it, but I had to pull him awayIt was awesome how ruthlessly protective he was, then back to his sweet, eager-to-please nature (after several minutes of hard panting and about a gallon of water).

I'd argue that pugs are even more useless.
And you’d be right.
That curly tail showing off his butt hole is disgusting.
Awful creatures that should never be bred.
