Lafayette trolls Ruston in cities' unofficial race to open first Louisiana Buc-ees
A Lafayette media site is trolling the city of Ruston as the two cities continue their unofficial race to open the first Buc-ee's in Louisiana.
Developing Lafayette posted the following on its Facebook page Sept. 17: "Hey City of Ruston! You're invited to the ribbon cutting of the first Buc-ee's set to open in Lafayette, Louisiana."

Jesus, they FID in 2025 and COD in 2028. That's the same timeline as a multi-billion dollar energy infra ammonia plant development timeline.

The FID was late 2024 and initially announced late 2026 as the date they were expected to open. And then they recently announced it got moved back 2 years.
I'm not stating any opinions on this. Its fact of the matter.

Traffic in Ruston will be impacted the first 2-3 months, but it will calm down. Bucees are waaay worse in touristy areas like Gulf Shores and Sevierville. I go in the one in Springfield, MO all the time, and it is rarely busy.

I believe that chic fil a usually gets the best out of their entry level workforce. No matter the location they usually have good service and are consistent. With that being said, the chic-fil-a off of Louisiana avenue is terrible in so many ways. I believe that the Buc-ee’s being built on the other side of the interstate will fail spectacularly for the brands image.

There's an 84-acre site for a proposed Bucees in West Memphis, AR. They are going to have to do major road work to accommodate that and I can only imagine the clusterfrick it's going to make for traffic in the area. It will be a redneck pilgrimage zone with the Bass Pro pyramid only 5 minutes away too.
