I think part of the cleanliness is that they do not allow trucks.

The one in Bastrop has these bbq grills and smokers outside that are thousands of dollars. You can just about buy anything there. Including beaver nugs.

buccees is a huge travel stop with locations all throughout texas. The stores are huge, they have super clean bathrooms with PRIVATE stalls, like separate bathrooms. They sell all types of gifts and do not allow 18 wheelers. Some have 50+ gas pumps. They sell hot food, bbq , beef jerky and their own private label snacks.

Stopped at my first Buckees in Houston (Channelview). I have to say it was impressive. There was more shite in that store than the entire NO Intl airport. 30-40 fuel pumps, food, drinks, deli, fudge, health food, crap food, shirts, hats, you name it. I see why the Texas peeps get so jazzed about it.

I always stop at the bucees in Waller on my way to Austin. That place is tricking awesome. I was there Thursday. I saw they pay their cashiers something like $12 an hour too.

Stuckeys had the convenience of being on each side of the interstate. Also was a good landmark to know that I was halfway between Beaumont and Houston. Never been to a Buc-ee's, but they've taken over the most billboards on I-10 title from Natural Bridge Caverns

I was more of a flying j's fan back in the day--I guess I valued cheap gas over a clean shitter.

And the lack of truckers really cuts down on the number of holes in the bathroom stall dividers.

Drove through Texas for the first time during spring break and discovered Buc-ee's. I subsequently dropped out of school to work there.

Passed by at least seven Bucees on the way to and back from San Antonio this past week. . . have made the trip many, many times over the last few years and have yet to stop at one.

They're always packed though, so they must be doing something right.

Guess I'll have to keep them in mind next time I'm on the lookout for a place to go!

It is open as of last week.

Picked up some solid jerkey, kolaches, & tons of crap the kids picked out.

Worth the stop on a long drive to stretch your legs, load up on snacks/drink, & check out a ton of stuff you know you want to buy but just can't justify pulling the trigger if for nothing else than a story.

That it is the fanciest gas station I have ever seen.

But it is still just a gas station to me.

Don't care how nice the restrooms are they are still public restrooms. Is someone cleaning the toilet every time someone sits on it or something?

Comical to me how people get so excited, but they are obviously doing something right.

I have never seen a Bucee's...where are these typically located?...

I've only been to one, it was on the way to Dallas when we played Oregon.

It's sort of like a truck stop + deli (although at the one I stopped at, all they had was chopped brisket sandwiches) + sporting goods (mostly fishing supplies).

It was pretty nice, just wish they had more food selections at the one I stopped at.

The restrooms are spotless.
