That is definitely the location. Across the street is Ruston Jr High. The DOTD issues stemmed from having to accommodate the Jr High traffic and the Buc-cee's traffic in the same area. It wouldn't surprise me if Buc-cee's helped the parish school board build a new school soon.

Bucees refused their demands on the Baton Rouge project and pulled the plug.

JBE was going to allow them to build anywhere in Louisiana. I assume Bucees knew this and the timing of the original Ruston announcement was probably an extra frick you to that administration who was going to term out before they could stop its development.

This is correct. They decided to skip over Louisiana entirely soon after jbe got elected 8 years ago due to shady politics

I’m hearing that the Lafayette location is still being pursued as well currently

Having A Buc-ee's in Louisiana really diminishes the brand.

In Lafayette, the area where I-10 and I-49 meet would be a smart location to put a Buc-ee's. That location would rake in the money.

No, Lafayette would be a terrible location for Buc. It’ll put all those new gas stations being built out of business.

It’s already busy through there as is.

Nah. I get off at that exit a couple times a week to go to Paradigm and it’s never any traffic. I’m sure when the school is in drop off/pick up mode it’s busier.
