It was a map but yeah I didn't even think that. Very strange choice for sure.

would have helped with the negative publicity if he'd have been wearing a brilliant disguise

He was on his way to pick up Biden to visit a fan. Apparently had just gotten off the phone asking a little girl if her daddy was home and if she was all alone, stating he had a strong desire and was on fire.

he did blow up in the '80s with Born In The USA

that's when he went from AAA to the big leagues, as mentioned above, I did some work for him on that tour, he told me that prior to that album/tour his net worth was a little over $20k

So Springsteen just came out and told you he was worth 20k? Jesus.

The guy writes all his own music and owns his publishing and always has. He is a solo practitioner with the E Street Band on his payroll. He doesn't split with anyone. He had probably 5 songwriting hits sang by other artists just in the mid 70’s alone. I saw him in Baton Rouge every year from 76 on when it was on the circuit. He wasn’t some “northeastern “ triple a act. He was an opening act and as popular worldwide as with few exceptions any other act at the time. Born to Run came out in 75-76 and it was immediate rocket to the top and he had several other follow up good albums.

He became a phenomenon with Born in the USA in the early 80’s but he was known globally and well off prior to that. People that don’t realize that aren’t old enough to know.

He played Santa Claus is Coming to Town at each concert here-no matter what time of year and Clarence Clemons always came out dressed as Santa Clause.
