wow. what kinda poll is this? i would not have him in the top 500.

i don't like how he always cuts off the caller when the
caller has a different opinion than his. He does this all the time. For instance, about a month ago a caller said something about "black quarterbacks" and Matt just teed off on this comment in a pathetic nature, cut him off and began sucking up to the political correct game when he could have had a very engaging conversation with this caller. (whether u agree with caller or not)

also don't like how he imitates callers/listeners with his silly mockery voice.

Matt has gotten better with his show and my heart goes out to him, his wife and child for their struggles.

IMO, nothing can ever top BR radio back when Jon Fine & Condon went head to head in the AM and Fine would whine & bitch because Condon got the ratings and Fine would say that Richard didn't even know or talk sports.

I enjoy his segments with Mike Detillier because...Mike does all the talking.

I used to love his show when it was natural and simple. Then he started trying wayyy too hard, and tries to make the show into Cowherd 2.0.

Culotta and the prince coming on board really put a pinch on his show. Before that it was just he and sports today. Now by the time he comes on at 3 (for 3 hours no less), everything local has been beaten into the ground for 4 hours, so he has to fill the time with yelling, whacky noises, and bad guests.

They should really look at dropping his show to 4-6. He doesn't need 3 full hours on radio.

The thing about Matt that drives me absolutely insane is how he'll waste 10 mins correcting an on air guest about getting a saying wrong or mispronouncing a word. He goes out of his way to try to qualify himself as the smartest person in the room. He also absolutely cannot admit when he got something wrong. He will crawfish his way to pick apart how he worded his wrong prediction.

Pretty idiotic statement by the caller. I dont see how they could have an engaging conversation about this topic.

As well he should have. That is a trap that has been laid and sprung on many naive radio hosts. It's a no-winner for the host and nothing good ever comes of it.

Besides, it's probably the same guy that has called for years with the same lame-assed topic, who wants nothing more than to stir the pot with no gumbo in it.

I'm starting to think a lot of people have never listened to sports radio outside of Louisiana.

As someone who works in the media, I have learned it does not matter how good/bad you are. There will always be a group of people that thinks you are just the worst thing ever, a hack journalist or whatever.

This just isn't true. People are critical, and they rightfully bash local radio as the standard is lower than national media. Not say all national is better, but they usually have a lot more to spend to get better content and guests.

Matt is better than the other two local shows on 104.5, but his show gets really bad anytime he ventures beyond LSU football and Saints.

Matt is a perfectly fine host. The only things that really irritate me are the constant on air commercials and his 'kick rocks' segment with Theriot.

As far as cutting off callers, I wish he would do this more. 99% of local sports show callers are complete idiots. I mean what productive member of society would actually take the time to call in to a radio show?

I listen to the show and find it a fine radio show, but do agree with this. His need to over enunciate will make me turn the channel occasionally when I'm not in the mood for his "try hard" routine. I'm sure it's a very tough solo job to do a show for 3 hours.

A perfect example was on his call when Catholic won state a couple weeks ago. "The brothers of the Sacred heart opened blah blah blah 100 years ago". Just shutup and give a heart felt call and quit trying so hard.

I honestly hope the poster making comments about not watching everything sports on vacation was trolling.

The Junkies are very good. Their afternoon offering on the same station, Chad Dukes Versus the World, is also very very good. Dukes should be on that list.

I happened to be listening at that point, and Matt was absolutely correct to cut that racist frickhead off and berate him on the air.

I too was listening and while I agree the guy deserved to be taken to the woodshed, I thought Matt went overboard trying to let the audience know of his outrage. Inasmuch as I can't say the caller was a troll or truly racist, I thought Matt could have found a more subtle and certainly belittling way to blow the caller out of the water by offering a calm, intellectual argument in lieu of the shock/outrage Matt seemed so desperate to convey.

why can't people express opinions? the caller had his opinion, that's what makes talk radio interesting and fun. Moscona missed an opportunity with that caller, instead he immediately chose the obvious political correct route. Everyone is too afraid to say anything that might constitute racist. white, black, whatever...I like hearing different view points, not just hear Moscona's view 24/7.
