BRPD shut down Essen between Picardy and Summa

We drove by and saw a wheel chair in the middle lane right in front of Walgreens. The whole area was taped off and a BRPD photographer was taking pics of the scene. WAFB was on hand as well. Anyone know what happened?
My first thought was panhandler guy in a wheelchair we often see at College and Bennington.

I got a wafb alert about 20 minutes ago that a guy got killed in a wheelchair crossing the road
ETA - it says he's in very critical condition but not dead yet

I saw that guys dick twice. Once he was peeing inside the bus stop by Taco Bell. Another time he was beating off by the post office.

Maybe that crazy lady? She’s always around there. Not sure if she has a wheelchair since she’s usually laid out in the ground yelling at me when I see her.

Honestly, it was right at the end of the Saints game, and one of my friends sends me a text that says "what were you doing on Essen?" and it was a screenshot of his phone with the notification about this.
