Just a few days ago he said they would not release the body cam footage yet. Now he says there is no footage, body cams were not on.
quote:

The day after the Baton Rouge Police Department announced it would not yet release the body and dash camera video from an Aug. 7 officer-involved shooting, Police Chief Murphy Paul explained the rationale behind that decision: The video does not exist. Paul said Tuesday — three weeks after the initial traffic stop-turned-shooting — that neither the officer's body camera nor the front dash camera were turned on during the incident. However, he said the police vehicle's rear camera caught some audio, but no video, and that a bystander provided some video of the initial traffic stop.

Does it really takes three weeks to realize that no footage exist?

That’s pretty hard to believe.

They should have know within the first conversation with dispatch after the event.

Honestly they are about to get railroaded, or nothing will come of it because the city/state are in cover up mode.

That’s absolute bullshite. The DA should decline to prosecute and the officer should be fired for failing to follow orders. I usually side with the police on this kind of shite, but in reading these articles the last few weeks, I simply think the officer is lying, I think the guy that got pulled over is telling the truth, and the chief is in cover up mode. frick them on this one.

Wasn't he brought in to be "transparent"? Funny how he is the mayors puppet and Gravy's savior yet now that he is in power; nothing changed. Gravy big mad (and just big in general) that the videos have not been released.

Gravy's sole purpose is to instigate. He wants videos released immediately because it helps his platform, which is to appeal to the emotional and irrational public who will overreact to even justified police work. He sees videos as a vehicle for his brand.

Agreed. He is the epitome of instigate, instigate, instigate then when it's proven he is wrong; never retract or admit fault. He will only bring up cases that help his cause and not ones that go against the narrative he is trying to spew.

A horse trailer or a cattle car seems like a more apt vehicle.

If it was a white cop, they'd have ten cell phone videos and direct tv hd footage of it.

Let's continue to attack gravy and divert attention from the point of this thread.

The point of a camera is to avoid the "he said; she said" issue with criminals vs police. This cop needs to stay on leave until there's an investigation into why neither of his cameras were on. If no sufficient excuse exists, then he should be let go. And no lawyer worth his salt isn't going to get that guy free with no charges even. Hell, I doubt Moore would even pursue them.
