I do have an open mind and always prepare myself for the possibility that I may be spending more than the $40 for the routine maintenance when I bring my truck in every 2-3 months. I just wasn't expecting $1400 worth when I brought it in this morning.
But this list isn't something they just concocted and presented to you.

Did you ask if that comes with a reach-a-round?
Posted on 4/21/15 at 11:07 am to ForeverLSU02
Their prices are pretty high for some simple maintenance. You are paying a mark up on all the parts and a pretty high labor rate at those prices.

congrats to you though, if you have a truck pushing 100k and no other service besides the 6k maintenance.
you might want to write a book on how to properly own a truck.
Just don't buy shitty cars or treat them shitty. My 07 Tundra has 120k and never had anything other than regular maintenance

That's an extra $49.95

Depending on what this entails, there's a chance this could actually damage your transmission.
Was coming here to post this theory. Don't know if it holds any weight, but it's something I've read about.

I would believe they are recommending them based on the Owners manual service schedule.

How much to rotate the air in your tires?
Posted on 4/21/15 at 11:31 am to brgfather129
I had a place show me a dirty cabin air filter. The problem with that is mine isn't serviceable, and you can't take it out without spending 2 hours taking apart the dash

I fill my tires with Nitrogen

i have 312k on my 4runner and the only thing outside of a new timing belt/H20 pump every 100k miles i just change the oil and buy tires every 50-60k miles.

I use to be an ASE cert mechanic, and trust me dont believe everything the shops tell you!
A tune up for $500 is crazy high! Unless your truck is a ford and has individual Coils on each spark plug. If so that sounds about right, a few of them are a pain in the arse to get to. You can do it your self for less than $200.
Rear diff service is simple. DIY
Engine coolant service simple. DIY
Fuel service I would ignore unless you've noticed a drop if your MPG. Change your fuel filter and put a bottle of sea foam in your fuel tank.
Drum brakes can be a huge PITA, I'd pay the $60 for that in a heart beat.
You should have had a tranny service around 60k, but that can also depend on what type of truck you have and thier specific service intervals.

Sounds like the dealership I got my Jeep from. When I bought Jeep they told me they give 2 free sets of tires to their customers as long as you get your maintenance done at their dealership. Figured I could do that. Then when I bring it in for oil changes....they show me this schedule of all kinds of extra stuff that has to be done in order to qualify for free tires. Stuff like air conditioner service, brake service, 4x4 service (at like every 12k miles)etc, etc. My jeep only had 20k miles at that time. Likely gonna just say screw it to these "free" tires that I'm really paying for in all the extra costs of this extra services and just get the stuff that is in the owner's manual maintenance schedule so I don't void out my extended warranty.
Am curious if I should just go ahead and keep with their schedule to get the first set of tires though. I'm at 21K miles and have no idea how long Jeep tires usually last though. Would be due to go back to them for service at 26k miles.

I got a good one. I go to a place for same thing and the last THREE times I went they have called me telling me to change my air filter. WITHOUT looking at it. Or they'd realize that I changed it FOUR oil changes ago when they first suggested it.
