There’s something in Afghanistan called “the fighting season.” Because of weather, and economic (poppy farming) reasons, the afghanis usually keep to themselves during the winter. They come out of seclusion from roughly April to October, AKA “fighting season.”
Trump signed the Taliban deal at the end of February 2020. He had no time to evacuate before fighting season 2020. I suppose he could have evacuated as a lame duck, after he’d lost the election. I wonder how that would have gone over?
Every military expert in the world agreed we should evacuate during the winter. Not Joe Biden. Biden came up with the insane idea that evacuation should coincide with 9/11…..right in the heart of fighting season, when there were many more Taliban fighters to contend with.
It was a disaster.

Democrats frick up everything they touch but never take responsibility. It's embarassing and you should feel bad. I didn't like Trump and didn't vote for him (3rd party) but his results were sooooo much better than Biden on every single thing and every single person in America knows it.

If we apply this logic, then we could also say Obama should have ended it because there was a large drawing down of our presence and several other countries in late 2013/early 2014. I know because I was there.
However, the ANA and ANP were not even remotely close to being ready and never were.
