re: Brother of JonBenet Ramsey reaches settlement with CBS in a $750 Million lawsuit

I was there. I know many people involved. The Ramsey’s closest friends were also my friends at the time. I spent the next Christmas with names you would recognize talking about it. I have talked about it on this board for 15 years. It’s the topic that annoys me the most because I “ lived it “ and knew people and places.

A few thoughts (fwiw) :

LEO rules Burke out. Nobody that actually knows Burke finds it feasible.And his weirdness is “ on the scale “ not sociopathic. Statistically sibling murder is very rare. At that age, exceedingly rare, almost non-existent. And he WAS interviewed and anybody that knew him AT THAT TIME found it silly on it’s face.

Burke was not “ whisked away “. He was sensibility removed from the crime scene. Within hours there were crowds outside the house and within days there were news crews. Living nearby, I will tell you it was crazy.

Boulder cops are incompetent. Murder was rare. It was a boutique town, not a “ murder “ town. The investigation is worse than even the harshest critics say. Incompetent.

Boulder DA is/was equally incompetent.

The spotlight was on The Ramsey’s from Day One. Peter Boyle’s radio show basically became a daily anti- Ramsey family rant. The feeling that the family did it was there from day one. Access Graphic ( Ramsey’s company ) on Pearl Street Mall has cameras in front every day and reporters were in every coffee shop. It was a zoo.

The ransom note has always and will always be the center of the case. It begins and ends with the weirdness of that note. It points to a family coverup for numerous reasons. It however was not “ clearly “ in Patsy’s handwriting although it has undeniable feminine language and phrasing in it.

The horribly macabre way the body was treated is indicative of it NOT being a family member. Loved ones DISPOSE of a body , they do not handle the body in such a ghoulish manner. Particularly since there is speculation that she was alive when restrained and garrote.

Meanwhile, The weirdness of the note and it’s odd intimacy is indicative of it being a family member. So the contradiction.

Nobody in the family had a motive. Unless you accept the complete speculative idea that a family member ( Burke ) accidentally killed her.

There is undeniable aspects of a torture killing, which is almost statistically negligible with family members. Especially a father who had already raised two kids to adulthood. John Ramsey is considered by those who know him to be as vanilla boring as it gets by the way. Milquetoast. The bindings and garrote speak to a VERY specific psychosexual psychology. Not a family coverup for many reasons.

The beauty queen stuff is weird. The sexualization Of children is weird. The amount of weirdos attracted to that stuff and that came in contact with Jon Benet is incredibly high.

The DNA “evidence” is overwhelmingly likely to be a dead end.

The entire case is a shitepile of complete contradictions. I don’t presume to convince anybody of anything- I just ask you that you challenge whatever assumptyou have with the facts of the case. If it was easy it would have been solved. IMHO, It will never be solved unless there is a confession.

Lsupimp.. so what is your opinion of who did it?

Also what do the people close to the case that you were around, what was/ their impression and do you still talk to these people and is it a topic of conversation even now ?

If there was evidence he would have been charged and not paid 750M

I believe (as opposed to know) that it was a stranger psychosexual murder. A stranger to the family, motivated for specific sexual desires having to do with binding and garroting a child.I believe that because of the preponderance of the evidence, not on any personal affiliation, and not with any degree of provability. I am familiar with all the STRONG evidence to the contrary, much of it quite convincing. Particularly the ransom note. When I first read it, I thought "a woman wrote that". When I learned it was written in-house and on a pad of paper fund in house I thought "Patsy did that".

But then after all the smoke settled and I read the autopsy report and familiarized myself with the principles of the case, I was left with a basic question:

The weirdness of the ransom note versus the weirdness of the actual murder? Remember, she died of asphyxiation. Thought to be as long as an hour after the blow to the head which incapacitated her. She suffered. She was likely moaning and in great distress. Possibly her life could have been saved. Boulder hospital is 2 left turns from their driveway.

Using Occam's razor (or forensic psychology if you prefer), you find your daughter dying, now place yourself in the parent's shoes. Do you call the cops ? I mean, if it was Burke, you hire the best lawyer, he faces no jail time and you move on. Or you stage the most bizarre scenario imaginable that includes garroting and torturing your own beloved daughter to death.

Remember now, if you wanted to stage a kidnapping it would take less than 15 minutes to carry her body out, drive up Flagstaff Mountain and leave her body somewhere where it would not be found for days. You could carry her body, dispose of it, and be back in fifteen minutes. You have a back alley in your house, it's the middle of the night, nobody would possibly see you.

Instead you write the note, garrote your child in the most heinous way and leave her lying down there in the most cold and grotesque way? The same daughter you obviously loved and cherished ?

Meanwhile ALL the hallmarks of a specific psychsexual ideation exist in the crime scene. The manner of death. The public nature of the victim with the beauty pageants. The rarity of a garotte being used in strangulation. The unusual bindings. All this speaks to a specific "fetishization" of both victim and manner of death. It was very BTK-like, there is really nothing in the literature to find other examples of similar RITUALISTIC parent-child murder outside of very rare schizophrenia or cult examples.

And yet the ransom note.....because if you believe Patsy wrote the note there is no other explanation. So again, it all comes back to that note.
