re: And now George HW Bush is not doing well - crtodd
There is a time for jokes, or whatever you thought that was. This wasn't the time. And it wasn't funny....

Hopefully his age and being in really good shape will help him heal so he can be there for his children, wife, and family. He sounds like a truly good guy....

re: Reminder to Warn Friends/Family about Internet Scams - crtodd
My father in law used to be a rural carrier for the PO. When he'd get letters like that, he'd tell my husband that it can't be illegal, it came through the USPS. They wouldn't let anything illegal come through the mail. That's what led to my husband getting his mail before he could....
but I can see how an elderly person could fall for that...
Absolutely. My mom is 85, and a widow. My father in law was living next door until a few months ago, and is 93. When he got dementia, we had to watch every move he made because he trusted everyone, including complete s...

re: Moving to Little Rock - What's the scoop? - crtodd
There is a lot to do within a 2-2 1/2 hour drive. I live a couple of miles from Lake Norfork, there is Bull Shoals Lake, three rivers with trout fishing up here, as well as plenty of hiking closer to Little Rock, I'm pretty sure. My son lived in LR for awhile, and it seemed like there was plenty to ...

re: Pilot of Southwest flight with blown engine was one of Navy's first female fighter pilots - crtodd
Engine failure is engine failure. The engine is no longer in service. Doesn't matter if it blew up, fell off, or just died
Bull shite. I don't know anything about flying a plane, except that I don't want to. But most any moron knows that an engine blowing up and a window breaking cha...

One question. If a male pilot had been flying this plane, would you be trying so hard to make it look like it was "no big deal?"...
Serious question? What shrapnel is she hitting at 30,000 feet? Is there just garbage floating around in the sky?
It's a good thing you weren't the pilot. Except that I'm guessing you're a man. In which case, you were born with the skills, knowledge and balls to immediately be...

re: Tornado! Threat Shifting East - crtodd
We're in North Central AR and just came down to the basement. The weather said there was rotation in Mountain Home, and was heading for us, about 15 miles from th there. It got really windy and lots of rain, thunder and lightning. And, since I left my glasses upstairs, i have no idea what I've reall...

re: Best place to sell “fancy” household items - crtodd
I had a few things that were a mixture of silver and silverplate that were my mother in law's to a jewelry store here out of lack of anywhere else to take them other than a pawn shop. Some of it was fairly old,and didn't have markings that I could find, and I certainly didn't want to try to guess. ...
And what stopped you from serving your country honorably like your friend? Stubbed toe? A bad case of the sniffles?
WTH? Is there a reason that you just naturally assumed that there wasn't an "acceptable" reason why he didn't serve? Or are you just a rude a-hole all of the time?...

re: BRPD Officers Threatening to quit - crtodd
We have an out of control police problem, period.
We have more of an out of control bunch of BLM people who don't care what someone has done, or what they are trying to do while hopped up on drugs, and reaching for a gun. If he's black, it doesn't matter. They would rather a cop b...

re: Now all #BLM should focus on Bryant Lee - crtodd
I know. I'm tired and didn't write that very well. I was trying to tell him what everybody else has been...that until blacks care that the black-on-black murder rate is so high, there won't be any change. Not to mention, they really don't WANT white people to care. But it's easier to blame ot...
