Harlem Globe Trotters play there tonight. I thought it would be fun to take Lil' Clyde Tipton IV.

Ticketmaster app on phone, $109 for two $20 seats plus fees.

So I google box office hours since it's literally across the river from me. I'll swing by on my way in to work.

Google says...

9AM-5PM

I show up about 9:15 this morning and it's all chained up with a sign that reads "Box Office Hours 9:30AM-4PM".

I wait it out, 9:30 comes and goes with no action.

Finally a janitor walks by and radios someone who tells him it opens at 10AM.

Again, I wait. By this time there are 3 or 4 of us standing around.

10:15am, someone comes out and informs us the box office will not open until 3pm.

I'm thinking...

At this point.

I really wanted to take my son, as my dad took me to see the Globetrotters in the Rapides Coliseum when I was about the same age.

Times have changed though. No one is consistent and no one wants to work. The damn show is tonight. You'd think they'd have at least one little old lady there selling tickets today.

I could rant way more, but this helps getting it off my chest. Thanks for listening.

But the $12 beers make up for the lack of customer service.

I’ll be there tonight. My daughter’s little basketball program from school will be performing at halftime. I sure was hoping they would have made enough money off of the spa and hot tub showcase a couple of weeks ago to waive the $12 parking fee. Alas that doesn’t appear to be the case.

In my experience, most box offices at large venues are operated by ticket master and still add fees, even if you go in person.

I take my kids to the parking lot on weekends to ride scooters metaphorically untethered. Great for that.

This, my daughter loves skating down the hill by the pedestrian bridge at the park.

Is it sold out or something? That seems like the kind of thing they would have plenty of walk up tickets for.

This. Most venues stopped selling cash walk up tickets. They've completely given over the ticket business to the devil that is Ticketmaster.
