He didn't give an inch to out-of-state agitators after the Alton Sterling shooting. SWB would probably roll out the red carpet for them.

I've met Kip several times and he was always very friendly. He always went the extra mile for BR and had honest intentions at heart.

I never really worried about Kip's motivations or agenda. I knew it was likely good for the city or at least in his perspective. I felt he looked out for the city and did everything he could to promote it.

Bike Cop Kip was best Kip- he meant business. Rodeo Kip was a close second though. Favorite Kip was Crisis Kip- when he broke out his Mayor swag.

I saw Kip Holden at a Rouses one time. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

The exact same thing happened to me at Publix in Tuscaloosa with Nick Saban. Feels like a clown world sometimes, huh.

He was probably hammered. Heard he could be a real dick when he was drunk.

JFK is the greatest now. When I was a kid most all of the Southerners despised him. An exception, everyone still hates LBJ.

I supported him and voted for him in his first two elections. On the third one I voted no. He was getting some wild ideas about big, grandiose schemes down by the river.

But scheming Kip was 100 times better than unsafe, unprepared, Sharon.

Kip came to talk to my students twice at school. He talked the entire class hour and answered the students' questions.
Seemed like a politician who cared about people.
Some of my undercover sheriff deputies friends did tell me that he got a couple of black eyes from husbands that cared about their wives.
Today after watching the latest metro council meeting I have come to the realization that we are being governed by Morons, some that cannot speak in a coherent manner and a mayorette is angry at everyone. I mean you can actually see the anger boiling off her. (she has a reading comprehension problem)

I despise 99% of politicians. Kip is in my 1% of politicians I like. He wanted the best for BR.

I raise a toast of a longneck bud heavy to Kip.

What he did for Downtown was incredible.

Agree with all the Kip love. That said Kip probably wishes everyone who would love him back as mayor would have voted for him for Lt. Gov when he was by far the best candidate to be an ambassador/promoter for the state.

Mayor can serve three terms with two consecutive max. So he is allowed to run for one more term. But I don’t think he will because he’s sick.

He was a huge cheer leader for Baton Rouge and the state of Louisiana. He’d have been a better Lt. Governor than Billy Nunguesser too.

He’d probably win if he for mayor again. But it would take more than 4 years to repair the credibility of city government. I’d still seriously support him though, even though he would likely start a new tax to pay for some unnecessary project downtown - because I know he’d make sure that value was provided to the voters with the funding they entrust him with.

Who could replace the idiot in office now that would be most similar to Kip?

Kip wasn’t perfect but he deeply cared about Baton Rouge and wanted the best for the city. He leaned on people who knew how to get things done.

SWB couldn’t give a shite and surrounds herself with idiots.
