A three-judge federal appeals panel has affirmed that a Wisconsin inmate featured in the Netflix series "Making a Murderer" was coerced into confessing and should be released from prison.
Brendan Dassey was sentenced to life in prison in 2007 in photographer Teresa Halbach's death two years earlier. Dassey told detectives he helped his uncle, Steven Avery, rape and kill Halbach in the Avery family's Manitowoc County salvage yard.
A federal magistrate judge ruled in August that investigators coerced Dassey, who was 16 at the time and suffered from cognitive problems, into confessing.
Was covered in 'Making a Murderer'

It's amazing that a viral documentary got a man released from a life sentence.

Guy confessed to murder to watch wrestling. Not the sharpest tool in the shed.
ETA - although, I have a feeling some people around here would do the same to watch wrestling. Gaaaaaaaaay!!!

And one that's slanted as frick
People need to actually read up on the case. Dassey is likely guilty too.

Address any oversights to the 3 judge panel, counsel.

Edit: I'm being sarcastic. I think the judges made the right decision.

His case hinged on his confession. If you can watch the full interogation and say beyond the shadow of a doubt that he was a conspirator, I don't even know what to think of you.

I can understand thinking Avery did it. I'm about 75% sure he did
I don't think Brandon had anything to do with it other than help Avery burn the body assuming Avery killed her.

You see the thing is you don't go to prison for being likely guilty. Thats not how it works.
