My apologies...pit bull mauling and dragging person by the neck is killed by the cops.

You can almost hear the thundering footsteps of Pit Bull apologists coming now to stand up for this misunderstood breed.

“The Enfield Police Department wishes to stress that action such as this is taken only under extraordinary circumstances,” authorities said in a statement regarding the incident. “This outcome, while unfortunate, appears to have been unavoidable from any further harm or additional injury.”
It’s ridiculous that the cops and this news writer feel compelled to justify the shooting with such effusive language.
“The outcome” being that the attacking dog had to be killed is light years less “unfortunate” than the fact that the dog attacked the human victim relentlessly, nearly killing her.
I’d say it was FORTUNATE that the officer was so close when the emergency call was made, and fortunate that he was able to kill the dog before it killed the woman.
Would it have been better had they been able to get the dog to release after the attack instead of having to kill it? Not really.
You’d still have to deal with the moral dilemma of what to do with this vicious and documented attacker of a dog. It would have likely been put down later, or if allowed back into society, it likely would have attacked someone else at some point.
It’s fortunate the dog has “been dispatched” before it can harm someone else.

Let's pump the breaks a little, clearly misunderstood here.

What other breeds come close to being as trashy?

I have a 5 yr old daughter. I've told my wife that if I see a pit in my yard, I'm killing it on the spot. Ask questions later.
That breed needs to be eradicated.

walking the dog the other day. He's a 22lb toy aussie. 80 lb yellow lab came running out the woods. Thought it was my neighbors dog but it wasn't. Let out a low growl and took a step to close. I popped it on the head with my dads walking cane. Carry it late at night and it scurried off. That wouldn't have stopped a pit. When they ready to kill they are almost unstoppable
