Took a piss on the windshield of the neighbors Tesla.

Will report back if I see him charge it this week.

Guess it’s time to stop digging deeper on Standard Lithium

Graphene is a single layer of Carbon atoms.
Unless things have changed from my days doing electro-chemistry Graphene is expensive as frick.
Like over $100/gram.
This is correct, Graphene is one of those "this will be big in 15-20 years once it's scalable" technologies.

Why did it take so long to discover this? Not like aluminum is rare or anything.

EDIT: Give me a better site linking this. Surely someone would have thought about something as simple as this by now if it were that effective.

Huge because we can mine most of this in America and not rely on China for lithium.

Also, getting 600 miles per charge in an electric car and being able to recharge in 10 minutes is a game changer.

I am willing to drive an electric car but it has to be better than my gas car.

Is it really a simple idea though? Almost every invention is "simple" in hindsight.

Yep.
Carbon nanotubes as well.

I remember reading about building a space elevator with Carbon nanotubes at least 15 years ago.

If it’s a material for beer cans, then yeah I hope they’ve thought of it.

This is incredibly naive to me. How long had we been using aluminum before we thought to use it for beer cans? We had used silicon for millennia before using it for diodes, another decade for use in a transistor and another decade before the micro-chip.

This is just talking about the raw idea, scalability and the feasibility of production are other major factors.

Look back over time and you will see tons of seemingly simple ideas with common elements and compounds that didn't happen as soon as one would think. How many different materials did Edison go through to find a viable filament for the light bulb.

Unlike lithium, aluminum is a readily available resource. This means that aluminum-ion batteries do not pose the same rare earth metal problems for mining that lithium-ion batteries do.

So should I start squeezing the aluminum out of my deodorant and resell?

This might be the thing that makes me buy an fpv drone.

Even just twice the storage by weight would be phenomenal
