Banning smoking was a great idea, then.

Well, it's hard to squeeze objectivity out of a dude who calls himself "MightyYat," but since I don't have $6 mil. to spend on a house, my options are old and gross or live in Lafayette. Or was it the comment about pretentious "authentic New Orleanians" that you objected to?

You said "all the houses are old and dirty" when you should've said "all I can afford is an old and dirty house". Also, how many times did the "I was born in ______ hospital" actually come up? We're waaaay more likely to ask you what high school you attended.

I've never heard the hospital thing. Only asked the high school thing once, but that is a pretty douche thing to ask.

if a rental property owners monthly housing payment goes up don't you think they are going to pass that on to the renter?

I've never heard of anyone ever encountering Angelina or her being present really at anything in or around the city.
My dad said he saw her walking her dog in the Quarter once. She was wearing a full length dress with long sleeves, presumably to conceal the signature tats, a giant hat and huge sunglasses that covered half of her face, but it was her.

They make 3 mil on a house they own for 8 or so years?

No that requires someone to actually buy it at that price

I've had the hospital thing come up in conversation before but I've never heard of anyone asking that outright. The high school thing is way more prevalent in Nola. If you meet someone new withing 5 years of your age one of you is likely going to ask where the other went to school to see if you have any mutual acquaintances.

Yet James Carville jogs down St. Charles with a big arse smile on his face, waving to everyone that passes him by.

Actually, most of the expensive places are old as shite too. I'm not spending $3 mil on a house just so I can contract a respiratory ailment, get stabbed on my way to work and watch drunks get rolled by transvestite prostitutes.

I've heard the hospital thing many times, but you're right, the high school thing is pretty douchey too. Good call.

Are we really comparing the celebrity status of James Carville with that of Angelina Jolie?

Your lack of any semblance of intelligence leads me to believe you'll never be in the "which $3MM house should I buy?" predicament.

Sure but that's not more than 50% of voters, no way. Either way the renters who did vote for it probably thought they were sticking it to property owners and were too dumb to realize their rents were going to rise the next time their lease was up.

The high school thing is douchey because private schools fall into different categories (classes), so they are basically asking your social class. I don't really care because I'm not from here, but it's pretty lame.

He's completely wrong about the housing thing, though. I live in an old home (over 100 years old) and don't have a respiratory ailment. I've also never been stabbed and my friends are the only drunks that hangout around my house
