I was one of the first retailers Amazon went to to sell tools online. I was drop shipping and looked bigger than I was. I beat them out of 2% on their confiscatory fees, and I tied into their back end when that was a difficult thing to do.
I knew within a month what was going to happen with Amazon. They were going to take my information and figure out what manufacturers to go direct with and beat them into submission so they had a lower cost than I had.
And it wasn't because they were mean. It was because the whole thing was designed to do that. It's a self perpetuating monopoly.

Zoom. They entered the market at the right time during Covid. Before they got in the game, Webex, GoToMeeting and Ring Central were the big players in video conferencing. Zoom came in with a fairly easy to use interface right when the WFH craze started during the pandemic and they have been the leaders since then.
quote:Zoom is still preferred in my field over phone calls or even in person for interdepartmental meetings, client contacts, etc., even though we've been back in the office for some time.
It will be interesting to see what happens now that WFH is being frowned upon and more people are coming into the office. There is still a market for video conferencing but the WFH market segment is about to dry up.

So why did they (Walmart) launch their own home delivery service Walmart+?
So they could make more money. They deliver groceries not every fricking item imaginable like Amazon

I too fish bass tournaments. Waterland sunglasses. Seems like everyone has these now because most of the pros are sponsored by them.

It really does work. One of the guys that work for me walked in my office the other day with coveralls on and I tried to light them on fire with a Bic. didn't work.
