You certain about 5%? I’ve always had refusals for anything less that 40%

Louisiana Window tint laws
Front Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line or top 5 inches.
Front seat side windows: up to 40% tint darkness allowed
Back seat side windows: up to 12% tint darkness allowed
Rear window: up to 12% tint darkness allowed
No idea what 5% mentioned is.
What do you mean that you mistakenly out 35 or whatever. The tint shop is suppose to inform you.

5% refers to how much light is blocked by the tint, when i say front windows i mean driver and passenger side windows.
i was not referring to a visor like strip going across the top of the windshield
40-50% is limo tint, you cant see through that shite with a 1m candle power spotlight so im not sure what you think you mean by 40%

Move to (or register it in) MS. You can do what you want, except have an abortion.
You pay a personal property tax on vehicles in Mississippi. If the car is newish, it may cost him hundreds every year for a few years.

The percentages used in tint represent VLT (Visible Light Transmission). Not that cockamanie shite you just made up. Limo tint is 2.5% or 5%.

This. Us old school baws know tint. Used to roll with double layer 5% all the way around. Some of my boys did 5% on the entire windshield. Lol

where i get inspection stickers they check my tint with a meter, i have decent tint like wearing sunglasses on my front windows and it reads it under 5%. she said 5% or higher reading fails and you get no sticker.
whatever that meter she has reads it was under 5% is all i know

I’ve had 20% down my windshield before, but never went lower. 5% is crazy.

it’s like the 5th level of hades from the heat in south LA so my tint makes a huge difference
On the new Ceramic tints, the darkness doesn't really matter. They block the same heat regardless of the level of darkness.

New ceramics are awesome. Just got 5 all around and 50 full windshield on my new truck. Incredible how much cooler my cab stays throughout the day

Rear Side Windows are 25% according to the LSP Website.

Except people in the NO area call inspection stickers brake tags. He’s not referring to the registration sticker on the plate, there’s no inspection for that.
I know that

Cheaper than an expired sticker and I don't think they care if you don't have a sticker. My brother got pulled over a month or so ago the cop looked for the inspection sticker, didn't see one, and never said a word about it. Don't remember why he got pulled over but they let him go with a warning.

I’ve been told the same by an officer I was playing golf with.
Fine is less for no sticker than it is for expired inspection. Also, if you roll through a checkpoint and don’t have one, they’ll likely just assume you’re from out of state. By the time you pass and they see your LA plates, I doubt they’ll chase you down.

Roll up with your windows down. Amateur

Go to a different shop. Many places don’t care. Try one in the hood

Louisiana law is 40% light transmission. Since your factory windows likely already block 3% you cannot get 40% tint and be legal.
You have to go the next step up in tint and get 50%, plus the 3% your car windows comes with, leaves you effectively at 47% light transmission. If you put on 40% tint you will be illegal at 37%.
And you live in a "free" country.
