Have had a new vehicle for about 3 months and without thinking got 30% tint all around before I got my brake tag. Went to get sticker and for the first time in 20 years of bringing vehicles to this place, they checked with the meter and refused to write it. So I can either have the tint removed, replace it with 40% making the rest of the vehicle look uneven or just roll sticker -less and hope for the best. Opting for the latter and just say frick it. Anyone ever been written up for no brake tag or (barely) illegal tint?

I’ve seen a dramatic increase in black arse tint on front windows over the past few years. So much so that I figured they relaxed the law because it appears it’s not being enforced anymore.

I got a ticket for expired sticker and dark tint from an a-hole cop after I was rear ended a few years ago. Went to the courthouse with my receipt for new sticker and both were wiped.

Move to (or register it in) MS. You can do what you want, except have an abortion.

Except people in the NO area call inspection stickers brake tags. He’s not referring to the registration sticker on the plate, there’s no inspection for that.

For several years now, i haven’t even had an inspection sticker.

Couldn’t get one because of my tint so i just stopped trying.

An inspection sticker and or a tint ticket is a non moving violation. It won’t go against your license or insurance. If you haven’t noticed, it’s like the 5th level of hades from the heat in south LA so my tint makes a huge difference. When i have gotten a ticket for it, i just paid it because the protection from the Sun and heat is worth the ticket

My understanding is that tint is a secondary violation so they have to have another reason to stop you. Can't just pull you over for dark windows.

I was stuck in traffic getting onto the new bridge from Port Allen earlier this year. We were creeping up the ramp while vehicles from the locks/westbank were merging with us. Anyway, Port Allen had some a-hole LEO standing in the road checking tags and tint in traffic. I saw him writing tickets for tint, and at least a couple of guys rolled their driver side windows down while they were passing him.

My pickup was fully compliant on both accounts (factory tint and new sticker), but it still infuriated me that Port Allen was using that shite as a blatant money grab. Hitting the dock workers out there who actually do manual labor for a living. Port Allen is Asshoe.

The trash with 5% tint cars seem to skirt by without issue.
