How do you determine the man who weighs differently?
If you use the seesaw, you can only use it three times.
Super easy, without reading thread.
Weight 4 v. 4. If they are the same, the fat guy is in the last 4. If they aren't the same, the fat guy is in the fat group.
Then weigh 2 v. 2, then 1 v. 1.
This is an old arse riddle, but normally I hear it phrased as "marbles the same size with one being heavier".

3 groups of four
weigh A vs B, if A = B then variant is in group C
weigh a1 a2 a3 vs c1 c2 c3, if equal c4 is variant
if c side is heavy we are looking for the heavy among those c's
if c side is lighter we are looking for the lightweight
this does not cover all the bases yet
if a does not equal b then lets call a the heavy side and b the light side and c the normals
weigh a1 a2 a3 vs a4 c1 c2 . if the a/c side is heavy then a4 is the heavy, if the all a's side is heavy then determine the heavy from those a's
if the a's equals the a/c then the variant is among the b's and i run out of moves before determination

You have 3 light switches in the attic that each control 1 bulb in the basement. How do you determine which switch controls each light while only going to the basement once?
