I just read through 9 pages of this bullshite and I'm more confused than when I started. OP what's the answer?
Posted on 12/17/19 at 12:23 pm to sweetwaterbilly
There is no answer OP is a bot just messing with you.
The correct answer is you put everyone on the seasaw 6 on on side six on the other. one from each side gets off at the same time until it is unbalanced.
set those 2 aside when it became unbalanced grab 2 of any other people
set those 2 side on one side (unbalanced people) and the other 2 (balanced) sit on the other side.
Take off from 1 of each side and then you will know who is the odd ball.
he didn't give the rules of how you can use the Seesaw or what constitutes 1 use so people just getting off at the same time multiple times still counts as 1 use.

It would start off unbalanced.

yes you are correct. Brain fart, BUT the same process will work. they will become balanced instead of unbalanced.

Someone linked the answer earlier in the thread. I read through that shite and it hurt my head.
You start out 4 on each side of seesaw with 4 sitting out. But your next move to solve is dependent on the results. So it has three different routes of solving depending on which pack of 4 the different weighted person is.

So far everyone has been wrong. The first move is to get all the men naked because the weight of their clothes would throw off the weight of the seesaw

If they are tilted then take the heavier 2 and have them sit on the saw.

So, what happens if the heavier 2 end up being the same weight? You've spent your last of 3 seesaws, and it's now obvious that the lighter (instead of the heavier) 2 hold the "odd man out".

I can’t be stopped,
I can’t be trusted,
I visit kings,
And maidens well busted,
I’m sometimes quiet,
Sometimes loud,
You’ll look around if I’m in a crowd,
What am I?

Theoretically, you could use up all of your 3 weigh-ins and still have 3 people on each side of the seesaw still sitting with unbalanced sides. That doesn't work.

An old one, but my favorite...
3 men on a business trip stop at a hotel for the night. The hotel clerk tells them it'll be $30 for the room. They each hand the clerk $10 and go to their room. A bit later, the clerk realizes he overcharged the men $5. So he gives their change to the bellhop to take to the men. On the way he realizes he can't split $5 three ways, so he gives each man $1 back and keeps $2 for himself. So, if the men each paid $9 for the room, that equals $27 and the bellhop kept $2, that makes it $29.
Where did the other dollar go?

It went nowhere. They would have contributed 8.33ish cents apiece and would each have accounted for 9.33ish to the bill.
