I've heard a version of this where she does it so she'll see him again at the funeral bc she's a psychopath, but your version says they had a great time and in love so that wouldn't make sense

in abnormal group of 6:
3 from abnormal group vs 3 known normal and 3 not weighed - now down to 3, and you now know if 12th person is fat/skinny
now weigh 2 of the last 3
(not winner, winner)

Only if the 3 you pick from abnormal group has the fat/skinny person in it. If the see saw doesn’t tilt you are still down to 3 but you don’t know if the outlier is fat or thin. On your 3rd and final try the only way you know for sure is if the see saw doesn’t tilt and thus the guy not on it is the outlier.

Any abnormal group should have the heavier guy. The other 11 are the same weight, so if you have the same # on each side, any abnormal result is the heavy guy.

His abnormal group is 6 individuals with one in the group being the outlier. It would be mere chance that the 3 he picks out of this group to weigh against his known group contains the outlier.
