BR teen beaten on Nebraska St dies at hospital; alleged attacker facing upgraded charges

The coroner's office said Hayes Sellers passed away Sunday, a week after he was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. His death was ruled a homicide as a result of blunt-force injuries to his head.
Police said Sellers was beaten around 2 a.m. May 8 as he tried to "deescalate" a fight that had broken out in a parking lot along Nebraska Street.
The alleged attacker, 20-year-old Edmond Revelle, was booked last week for second-degree battery. Police said Tuesday they expect to upgrade his charges.

The sad thing is people who live there will now take pride in it. Not outright, of course, but there's a reason that so many rappers from BR talk about how deadly it is.
This is what they want. The young men want to live like this. The ones that don't want to live this way have left.
It's time to accept that, completely disregarding race, there is a certain portion of the population that want to behave like animals. They think it's cool. They think the life they're living is worthy of respect because they've been raised to not know any better.
It's a real problem. I don't know what to do about it other than let them kill themselves.

The story I heard was the kid was at Waffle House at 1am with his girlfriend and he had words with a couple Mexicans in the parking lot after they were yelling shite at his girl. They left and returned and beat him with brass knuckles.
Again, this is 2nd hand information and I can’t vouch for any of it.. and obviously there is no Waffle House near Nebraska street.
ETA: oh, and the kid is related to the Ralph Sellers family in some way.

I'd wager to say a charge of second degree murder will be filed. If brass knucks were used, the guy is finished.

Yeah I can't think of anything right around there open late until you get closer to campus and that's like a mile down the road. He'd have had to run by a police station if people were chasing him.

I never minded a good scarpin my younger years, and it cost me in a couple different ways.
Now I have a 2nd son on the way, have had a major back surgery and gain 10 pounds to my stomach by looking at a 6 pack wrong.

From a very well known family. Kid was hit with an object-bat, pipe etc. Remained in a coma for a few days brain dead before he died. Extremely sad and very avoidable.
