I don't really love that house, but I don't think it's insane for a 2,600 sq ft house. If the interior is actually quality, it seems like a pretty standard price depending on neighborhood.
The whole having a yard in a suburban neighborhood thing is overvalued in my opinion. I grew up on 2 acres and now live in a similar style house as the one posted, although I have a little bit more front yard than this. I've got parks in walking distance that my kids will be able to play in. I much rather not have to deal with the yard. I can understand wanting property to get out and do stuff, but you really need acreage to do that. Just a larger subdivision lot doesn't offer enough upside to me to care.

only if i wanted to live there. It looks like a pretty nice house, and the per foot price seems reasonable. The latest new construction in capital heights on 40x120 lots sold for about $200 per foot.

I showed one right down the street in Willow Grove that was 2800 sq ft and some change that was $663,000. It was listed at $228 sqft

I guess, but there's no place to keep a boat, or anything else. You pretty much couldn't live there if you had any kind of serious hobby that required equipment of some kind. There's no room for a dog. And people are too damn close. Ideally my neighbors should be far enough away that I can stand on my porch and not see them. At least I shouldn't be able to literally reach out and touch their house from my house

But, I agree, Jackson is getting awful. When people in Eastover are getting kidnapped by gunpoint in the morning, it's time to get the frick out.

shite, it will give a frickton on the Reservoir over here.
My wife's parents live on the reservoir in Madison. Her grandfather built the house on the far north end when it was just woods like 60 years ago and people called him crazy. Now they get people trying to buy their lot monthly even though its not for sale.
Gated street near the Yacht Club with a big back yard on the water and a dock. I love going there and drinking beer on the dock. You forget you're 20 miles from Jackson

Go ahead and get it Jim. I'll rent space in one of my warehouses for your boat, 4 wheeler, extra vehicle like I do with a lot of my friends. It pays the note on the building and all of them have a secure place in the middle of the city to store their crap. But they all do have their shite just haphazardly parked everywhere and on occasion one will get pissed at another for blocking his boat with his jeep and taking the key.

He's the man. It's time more people like him stand up. Enough is enough.

When my wife and I were looking we saw a house on the Reservoir. 5 bedrooms, 3 baths. Brick, built in 2012, private pier, on the water obviously.
Square footage was around 4k an they wanted 444k.
Your dollar goes really far in Mississippi.

When I get another boat, I realize I'll have to pay for storage. Or I'll have to have a house with a large garage. I'm not leaving my boat outdoors anymore. I kept my first boat in great condition, but had to clean it once a month even when I hadn't used it. Covers attractive to bugs and mildew, open fills with dust/dirt. Only good way is indoor storage.
