You're stepping on your own dick with that question. You pay zero registration fees, zero insurance, gas taxes do not apply to you, and you have zero safety inspection costs.



I know you can call ridicule my question, but can you articulate why a car/driver has a right to a lane, but to a bike/rider it is a privilege?

we were discussing that at lunch. i think they expect a high percentage of bikers to turn west on Hundred Oaks and heard toward LSU through the lakes. Capital heights ends at Acadian, so there's no safe place to cross Acadian. Broussard west of Acadian is too narrow, busy and fast for bicycles. Hundred Oaks is wider, and is not so heavily traveled. That's my best guess.

I moved into the Capital Heights neighborhood in 2001 because it was cheap, then bought on Capital Heights in 2004. although we have 5 or 6 bikes, we don't ride much. We supported the 2007 change to one-way with bike paths because it would limit and hopefully slow the traffic. the positive changes in the neighborhood as a direct result of this change would be hard to overstate. It has completely changed the neighborhood for the better. I support bike lanes in Baton Rouge, and they're going to happen whether i support then or not.

only if i wanted to live there. It looks like a pretty nice house, and the per foot price seems reasonable. The latest new construction in capital heights on 40x120 lots sold for about $200 per foot.
