I am not anti-cop by any means, but this fricking shite makes me want to lose my mind.

It's a stupid law. I bet you never had a beer before 21 either right?

That’s a bold move to hold an inspection sticker checkpoint when the Chief is crying to the city for more officers and higher pay. Let’s see how that works out for him.

I understand it's the law and all, but I kinda feel like inspection stickers is one of the last things, if not THE last thing our police force should be working on.

I can see them writing the ticket to some a-hole they have pulled over for something else and the guy is being a dick. Kind of a frick you lagniappe. But detailing officers to go out and just do that on a day when they could be doing criminal patrol? Nope.
ETA. Two people just shot off of Evangeline and N. Foster. But keep writing those tickets boys.

This is not a question of whether I like the law or not, I don't. It's an issue of resources.
Those cops are getting paid the same whether they are hassling folks for more money or whether they are patrolling the crime ridden areas of the city picking up criminals. Hmm...I wonder which is a better use of resources?

It's a gateway crime.

How hard is it to keep your inspection sticker updated?
Posted on 6/6/18 at 5:15 pm to LaBR4
I'm 2 years expired they probably out looking for me.

Me too. I haven’t heard of this or a DUI checkpoint in ages.
They either lost a lawsuit or lost their grant money.. or both.
There used to be a checkpoint in EBR every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night back in the 2010-2014 time frame.

I got pulled over multiple times by cops fishing for dwi while I was in college working late hours. Most of them with a 2+ year old sticker.
They never ticketed me. In fact some would even comment that they were just checking if I was sober.
Even had more than a few comment on the sticker. It's a source of revenue and a frick you when someone gets out of line during a stop.
No purpose otherwise.

Trudy White lives in that neighborhood back there. They must be applying the pressure.

Bunch of lazy fricks. Go do something productive. That’s worse than the bums radaring people and giving tickets for going 5 mph over

The Baton Rouge Police Department is full of a bunch of lazy people. They are corrupt. They are worthless for investigations. They minimally prevent crime. Their best use is directing traffic and they frick that up after LSU games. I cannot think of a more shitty government agency than them. If they were paid based on performance then we could lower taxes.
