What a shitty job!

The city-parish is paying LSU $150,000 to conduct more research of the parish's sewage systems to gain new insight into how the coronavirus is impacting the community.

This new round of testing to detect the virus in residential fecal matter will be targeted in specific neighborhoods with the intent to gain a clearer snapshot of where the virus's spread is slowing or getting worse, and possibly predict if another resurgence of COVID-19 is on the horizon.

Well, when contact tracing is deemed tyrannical, I guess this is what you have to resort too.

I assume this is federal slush money given to EBRP who gave it to their pals at LSU.

This whole fricking virus response is a goddamn sham.

Seams like if we took the 60k tests that were offered over the last 2 months at various test sites and did a random sample of the various major neighborhoods in EBR we could have figured out the hot spots a lot easier.

They can’t do this research by testing the sewage coming from Earl K Lake?

What next?

The COA will petition to be allowed to reopen and will have mixers where they push more “legal advice” onto the elderly about estate planning.

I am a pretty conservative dude, but this research in particular is damned valuable.

I have a friend who is a world-renowned leader in sewage bioengineering and disease control, and it is an awesome and powerful disease detection system when implemented well. It was pioneered by the Israelis, and a lot of other developed countries are starting to catch on to it. It is way, way better than normal personal testing writ large across a population for a number of reasons, as an example, in understanding the true spread of a disease in a population.

Yea, a lot of tax dollars are wasted. This specific expenditure will be well worth its outlay. Trust me on this one.
