8 years of Jindal didn't set BR or Louisiana up for excellence.

It's sad everything has been boiled down and simplified to "party" and not the person in leadership.

BR is far from perfect but quit trying to make it sound like Baltimore

Baltimore has the Ravens and the Orioles, as well as a loop and a kick arse airport. It is superior to BTR (which has similar crime and equally shitty NON-MAGNET/GIFTED public schools)

You live in Southern California, you should be used to it. Orange County is nice though.

Corruption, blue city policies.

Yeah, but the difference between blue voters in Louisiana and states like MA, VT, and CT is that blue voters in the Northeast work white-collar jobs, pay their taxes, and actually contribute to society. The blue voters in MS and LA are unemployed drug addicts who live off government assistance

Baton Rouge was a terrific place as a child/youth but then again, so was New Orleans, and most places of any count

70805 where I grew up looks just like that. When I attended my grandmother’s funeral at St. Gerard a couple of years’ ago it looked like a 3rd world country. Tony’s has cops outside and has since I was a kid. Baton Rouge was awful 10+ years ago and hasn’t gotten better.

Eh, BR has its problems for sure...but I'm flying out of BTR today, and I parked, checked my bag, through security, and got to my gate in under 20mins. Pretty nice honestly.

You can do that in Jsckson, MS, too. Think about that.

It takes me 45 minutes at Sky Harbor, the best airport in the country, per WSJ.

I'll spend the extra 25 minutes not to live in a shithole

Haven’t been in BR in probably 10 years and Wow, this place is nasty! Everything looks old, dirty and broken down. Homeless people everywhere, crackhead looking people everywhere. What the hell happened here?!

Taking the backroads to Superior?

Be a little more dramatic next time or something

Baton Rouge is what it is. No one claims its some great city, which its not, but what shite hole did you come from into BR?

Irvine. Not a perfect city, but overall a nice area. There has always been a crazy homeless problem but that is more so in downtown Los Angeles. In BR I feel like I’ve seen more abandoned buildings, more trash more run down looking areas than I remember seeing just 10 years ago. Feels like it has been a steep decline.
